PURPOSE OF POSITION

Viking Cruises is one of the world’s leading cruise line company that manages a fleet of 64 river ships and 5 ocean ships (and growing) with offices across the globe. We have our Marketing and Sales headquarters based in Los Angeles, USA and the Operational Head Quarters based out of Basel, Switzerland.
As IT Business Analyst, you will be a key member of the IT & Business Solutions Department. You will provide management to a broad range of information technology initiatives, projects, and programs, including the creation and implementation of technology and business solutions. You analyze business operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses and to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
This role will be located in Basel, Switzerland. Please note that we can only accept candidates who are eligible to work in Switzerland or are in possession of a relevant work permit.


RESPONSIBILITIES


• Analyze, develop and recommend plans and solutions to operational, management, and processes issues
• Plan, implement and manage special projects
• Establish KPI’s and perform monitoring of all running IT Projects
• Carry out investigative tasks. Obtaining requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, surveys and workflow analysis
• Create IT Budgets and spend reports
• Prepare and present written proposals on IT projects
• Facilitate team meetings and workshops
• Anticipate project challenges and risk scenarios and prepares, leads, and executes proactive response strategies to ensure optimal results
• Handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Prepare and presents documentations for the executive management team on all running IT initiatives and projects
• Validate requirements and develop cost estimate models
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATION PROFILE


• You are skilled at communicating with all levels up to executive, whilst being proficient at analysis and the subsequent reporting and providing of recommendations
• Experience working with a diverse range of technologies and platforms
• Ability to negotiate and manage projects within tight deadlines
• Documentation writing skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Analyst with excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills
• Qualified to degree level in Computer Science business information systems or equivalent work experience
• Experience of toolsets used for data analysis and management
• Self-driven and self-directed with a great attitude
