Fleet Executive Chef - River Cruise

The Company

I am currently working with a luxury River Cruise Company, and have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Executive Chef to join the team.

The Role

As Fleet Executive Chef you will be responsible for all culinary operations within your area, and will enjoy a varied role. You will ensure that a luxury standard of Cuisine is constantly delivered.

Responsibilities will include ensuring that product standards are adhered to, reporting onboard feedback to the head office, monitoring operational standards, conducting internal audits, developing improvement plans, ensuring all vessels are well staffed, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, coordinating delivery with vendors, and approving menu and consumption plans.

Based from home, you will prepare new training tools for use on board, anticipate for any potential operational issues - and ensure that the Executive Chefs on board are kept up to date with any potential issues.

You will also enjoy frequent travel to the ships - performing internal audits and inspections, delivering crew training, and ensuring that the culinary product is being delivered to high standards. You will ensure that vessels are managed in line with company procedures, as well as in line with external regulations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working as Fleet Executive Chef (preferred)
• Experience working as Cruise Executive Chef (River Cruise experience is a definite advantage)
• Degree in Culinary Arts
• Extensive experience delivering modern and classical cooking
• Strong management skills - including the ability to plan, organise and complete work to deadlines
• Excellent management and communication skills
• Excellent English (German Language skills are also an advantage)
• Well developed interpersonal skills and leadership skills
• A valid driver's license is required for this position
