The Role

This  high profile  field based position will have responsibility for business development of both Uniworld and U by Uniworld through account management to meet the annual revenue goal and passenger targets in line with the overall business objectives.   Driving incremental business through planned face to face account meetings with existing accounts. Business development of new accounts by primarily focusing on high wealth networks and upsell opportunities maximizing investment versus returns at the Ultra Luxury end of the spectrum. Aim is to increase distribution channels in the south, activity frequency and establish Uniworld as the Trade's no.1 luxury river cruise line.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth flow of information between Uniworld and key core accounts to ensure regular communication of Uniworld tactical initiatives/product launches and enhancements
  • Conduct regular in person sales calls on a pre-planned weekly and monthly basis.
  • Develop independent sales/marketing promotional plan to support regional revenue target achievement.
  • Manage assigned sales expenditure budget for each account to ensure most cost-effective return on investment
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure the agent database is regularly updated in all internal systems.
  • Produce regular feedback on agent activity
  • With the national sales manager negotiate, implement and manage robust commercial agreements & marketing plans with key appointed agents that delivers sound ROI
  • Deliver engaging and informative face to face agent training and webinars
  • Conduct information sessions to our travel partner's customers
  • Escort agent FAM trips and ship visits
  • Arrange agent events such as regional dinners, sporting events etc
  • Ensure ongoing communication of sales/marketing initiatives to all retail travel agents & wholesalers in the territory.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows and conferences as agreed.
  • Weekly & monthly reporting of all sales activities through Sales Force

Key Skills required

  • Previous travel experience essential and ideally having had a field sales role, at least 2 years specifically selling cruise in existing or previous role
  • Proven track record of sales and account management
  • Good knowledge of the luxury market, luxury travel agents and wholesalers
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Working on own as well as part of a team with flexible approach to hours as not 9-5, long hours, weekend work and overseas travel
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft suite of products - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of Sales Force - useful but not essential

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
