In a buoyant market Marella Cruises is performing well and going through an exciting time of fleet modernisation, whilst also moving to owner managed model. Marella Cruises operates a fleet of 6 ships for a UK customer base and operates out of homeports across Europe, Caribbean with a planned Asia itinerary in W18/19.

As a Finance Manager you will partner the Head of Ancillaries and oversee all elements of the Cruise Ancillary financial support. You will also be responsible for Cruise Performance Reporting both in terms of Cruise Margin which rolls up as part of the overall UK&I profit and also externally reported EBITA. This role will manage and develop 2 Finance Analysts.

What you will be doing

You will oversee the financial management of the Ancillaries budget (c.£35m) which covers both On Board Profit and Shore Excursions.  Supported by the Cruise Analysts a key responsibility will be the production of an insightful monthly performance pack which you will coordinate and then lead a review of with key commercial partners with the aim of driving improved business performance. You will work with the business to establish a clear roadmap for Ancillary strategy, whilst also providing financial guidance for new initiatives, contract negotiation and supporting business cases.

The role will be expected to drive forward improvements to MI reporting and ensure the Commercial Team has the tools available for informed decision making. You will initiate process improvement and also maintain the integrity reported numbers by ensuring the necessary balance sheet controls are in place.  Working with the Cruise Accountant you will support with the production of accurate and efficient End of Cruise reports and ensure that the correct end-to-end accounting policy and VAT treatment is followed.

You will also be responsible for Cruise Performance Reporting, including month end reporting, forecasting, risk & opps management, initiative tracking and operational cash flow.  You will hold relationships with FP&A function and Group Reporting and Investor Relations team to help with consistent, clear messaging of Cruise performance. You will review, critic and challenge to help guide Cruise profit development.

Co-ordination and shaping key monthly reporting output (Cruise Board / Bi Monthly senior review) for Cruise Finance Business Partner review will sit in this role, as will driving improvements in the reporting process and You will support the 5YP and Budget reporting requirements through coordination of inputs and support to the final presentation pack.  A key element will be producing reports and ensuring integrity of ship level profitability to facilitate commercial decision making and benchmarking against industry performance. You will work towards automating Cruise performance direct from SAP.
