441.0.b Reporting to: Executive Housekeeper

441.0.c Primary Objective of Position

.1 Assisting the Executive Housekeeper in all aspects related to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of guest suites, public areas, concessionaire facilities, offices and staff and crew facilities, crew areas.

.2 Responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all public and crew areas.

.3 Responsible for scheduling and supervising work & rest hours of the Utilities HK.

441.0.d Major Area of responsibility

.1 Customers

  • Actively interact with guests in order to identify expectations and needs and fulfill them before they turn into an issue,
  • Effectively handle any guest complaints that may occur during service, suggesting solutions and alternatives to guarantee effective guest recovery,
  • Ensure that all guests (special) requests, inquires, bedding configurations and concerns are responded to promptly.
  • Delivering guest information documentations to cabins.
  • Ensure that crew greets and smiles at guests.
  • Ensure that personalized service is provided by addressing guests by names.
  • Constantly display a positive and can do attitude.
  • Strictly follow and reinforce the company grooming policy.
  • Keep in mind that guests always come first.
  • Greet and smile at guests and crew.
  • Always ready to go the extra mile.
  • Communicate and interact at all time in a friendly, professional and courteous manner with guests and colleagues.
  • Follow instructions received from direct Supervisor or any higher ranked officer.

.2 Organization & management.

  • Assisting the Executive Housekeeper with general housekeeping services.
  • Assist the Ex. Housekeeper in making sure that all housekeeping areas are properly staffed, stocked, and set up.
  • Visit and constantly walk through all public and crew areas at peak hours to verify their smooth running, acting on and following up on any issues found to ensure standards are not affected,
  • Conduct inspection of pax/crew cabin, crew area, public lounges on daily basic.
  • Constantly monitor and supervise services and service-crew in the housekeeping areas.
  • Ensure that a full and complete inventory and consumption record is maintained for all supplies and equipment assigned to the restaurant sections.
  • Assist the Ex. Housekeeper in ordering all housekeeping supplies including chemicals for laundry, linens, towels, uniforms, flowers, etc. with coordination with Provision Master.
  • Inform Ex. Housekeeper of any needs of new supplies and equipment in order to run a smooth operation.
  • Recommend purchase of new equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Schedule and publish the working hours with side duties of all Utilities.
  • Assist the Ex. Housekeeper in maintaining accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping, to include but not limited to: guest stateroom checklist, public room/stateroom inspections and crew cabin inspection reports, and all sanitation related reports or logs as required.
  • Ensure that crew is informed about VIPs, special guests and special services required.
  • Able to relieve for the Ex. Housekeeper or Stewardess if situation requires.
  • Constantly lead by example.
  • Constantly display welcoming and approachable demeanor.
  • Maintain an attentive & proactive approach, asserting satisfaction with the product served.
  • Assist the Ex. Housekeeper in regards of the appraisals for Utilities, by providing fair and accurate comments based on individual performance log, job description and by recognizing top performers and crew in needs of additional training.
  • Able to build respect and trust among his team and colleagues.
  • Build trust and share his/her knowledge with the Utilities team.
  • Develop goals that are, not only, achievable but also compatible with company objectives.
  • Assist and coach new hire & Jr. Staff.
  • Train and assist new hired staff.
  • Identify the needs for training and provide appropriated one.
  • Always optimize working hours of all crew in the department.
  • Take full ownership of her/his working area.
  • Maintain at all time a clean and safe working area.
  • Maintain a good line of communication with Ex. Housekeeping and the HK Utilities.
  • Able to use sound judgment when dealing with guests & crew.
  • Constantly follow company P&P.
  • Always protect company interests, assets & properties.
  • Initiate ideas for improvement.
  • Flexible and pro-active when facing unexpected event or situation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed.

.3 Safety & compliance.

  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
  • Constantly monitor the ILO.180 for compliance by providing guidance, coaching and addressing immediately the non-conformances.
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining at all time and healthy and pleasant working environment in his/her department.
  • Always follow time keeping rules.
  • Fully comply with safety duties.
  • Strictly follow company code of conduct and safety regulations.
