Health & Hygiene Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with requirements for Health & Hygiene in all Hotel departments
  • Regularly discuss H&H operation with Hotel Line Managers
  • Control the vessel’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programme
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels of chemicals and equipment
  • Organise, conduct and keep logs of Health & Hygiene training across the vessel
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and chemicals
  • Monitor and report on use of temperature and sanitation logs
  • Manage the garbage room ensuring correct segregation and disposal and landing of waste and garbage in line with MARPOL V requirements
  • Monitor crew adherence to health and hygiene standards
  • Support key personnel in their professional development
  • Ensure all areas are ready for Port Health (PH) inspections
  • Support culinary team in cleaning and hygiene of food preparation areas
  • Stay up to date with changes to best practice and regulations, including MARPOL V and US/UK PH, briefing changes to Line Managers and crew as required
  • Supervise Utilities including organising their work schedules, training on new procedures and evaluating their performance, giving feedback as requiredDuties & Responsibilities are not subject to, or limited by those specified. Assignors Signature
