We’re on an exciting journey to create one of the most irresistible travel brands in the world and are building an epic team to help make our ambition a reality. We are on the hunt for a super talented ‘someone’ who is passionate about how things work and tinkering with engines.

This ‘someone’ will help us set up the most efficient & sustainable engine room operation at sea! This position will begin in the shipyard in Genoa and then onboard our beautiful Scarlet Lady at Sea. The Engine team is responsible for making sure Scarlet’s main systems and safety systems are working and maintained at all times. What makes us different you ask? We will have a 4-6 hour watch system!

In other words, this ‘someone’ needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won’t be able to remember how we got by without you.

What You’ll be Up To:

• Oversea the entire operation of the engine room and technical aspects of Scarlet
• Oversea the operational engineers and the crew of the Engine room and make sure that it is always ship-shape
• Responsible for the maintenance of all of the engine room and deck machinery
• Responsible for operation and maintenance of briefing safety training of the entire engine crew
• Record and update maintenance information
• Oversea the pollution prevention equipment onboard
• Make sure the crew is being taken care of as per STCW
• Plan the overall machinery maintenance in the Engine room
• Maintain an efficient alert watch in the Engine Control Room
• Carry out maintenance to assigned Technical Systems and equipment - Don’t forget to update the log!
• Mentor & develop Junior Watchkeepers
• Partake in meetings, training, and inspections
• Make sure all the pieces of machinery & safety systems are working safely and efficiently

Superpowers Required:

• 2nd Engineer Unlimited COC
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as OOW onboard a cruise ship
• All certificates as required by the STCW
• Strong verbal and written communication
