Shore Excursions Staff and Shore Excursions Manager - (Cruise Ship) - $competitive per month on board + Commission

ARM is seeking candidates for Shore Excursions Manager positions on board some of the most prestigious cruise ships travelling the world.

Whilst Administering the shipboard Shore Excursion program and related guest services departments to achieve established revenue and quality goals, the main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Creates and implements a revenue generating plan.
  • Monitors revenue performance (Gross, NET and APD). Determines if the ship is on track to make target, and adjusts strategies and plans to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction when necessary. Maximizes NET revenue by understanding and implementing margin strategies with variable pricing, minimum participation.
  • Monitors shore excursion operations and ratings for quality assurance.
  • Actively seeks additional marketing opportunities and venues onboard.
  • Regularly conducts onboard sales training with the team, and ensures all team members understand the current strategies and plans to meet targets.
  • Manages assigned Shore Excursion desk shift.
  • Provides guest services with regard to tour sales, refunds, complaints, and general port and ship information.
  • Manages the financial aspects of the assigned shore excursion program, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control. Meets with tour operators while in port. Reconciles sale of tour tickets with operators and coordinates payment with the Miami Office. Ensures net ticket invoice pricing is consistent with pricing provided by shoreside shore excursion office.
  • Meets with immediate shipboard supervisor, to review the requirements of the day’s activities and timeframes. Reviews schedules to estimate time requirements to ensure speed and efficiency.
  • Coaches, manages staff to ensure that workstations, work areas, equipment and overall operations are working efficiently. Operates and manages staff operations of computer systems.
  • Makes recommendations for personnel actions such as new hire requests and discharges, to ensure proper staffing. Trains and monitors entry-level positions for proper skill and service. Provides on-the-job training
  • Conducts scheduled tour presentations to guest audiences. Participates in maintaining shipboard shore excursion video. May rewrite scripts or work with Broadcast Technician to shoot footage as needed.
  • Prepares or delegates and manages the submission on a timely basis of all required reports.
  • Coordinates tender operations when required with other Marine or Hotel departments.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of ports-of-call and associated tours preferred.
  • Understanding of cruise and daily targets, forecasts and performance measures.
  • Ability to execute revenue plans and utilize provided tools to maximize shore excursion revenue and ratings
  • Ability to conduct tour presentations to large groups of guests. Experience conducting tour or sales presentations preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in sales and customer service. Ability to sell, up-sell and cross-sell tour products and services.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the management of the assigned staff. Ability to manage the international staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees as they work.
  • Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or terminate employment.
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment to meet goals.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency preferred

Work Experience Requirements
