Faststream are working with an expedition company who are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team.


The role…

The Sous Chef assists the Head Chef with all galley operations reporting to the Hotel Manager.

- The vessel will be operating in Longyearbyen, Svalbard

- You will assist with supervision and and coordinating of all operations in the galley.

- You are responsible for maintaining a safe and hygienic work practice.

- Assist with stock control and ordering of food provisions.

- To plan and monitor the activities of his sub-ordinates and crew.

The person...

- The suitable candidate will have at least 2 years working in a similar professional position.

- Experience of international cooking

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and good knowledge of the English language.

- Able to work in a multicultural environment

- Hands-on mentality

- Experience on passenger vessels is required.

You must have a valid STCW.

Duration of the contract will be 2-3 months until the end of the season and then you will join for 3-4 month on board.
