The Graphic Designer oversees the production of translated materials and collateral printed on board, ensuring materials are produced in tandem with their English versions. Additionally, the Graphic Designer effectively coordinates the proofreading process for all translated printed collateral and provide ongoing support to onboard departments in typesetting, design, and/or layout work for translated collateral.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Oversees the production of all translated materials and collateral printed onboard, ensuring that product quality standards are always met or exceeded.
• Always follows the Print Shop’s established work flow and routines to meet deadlines set by onboard management or as necessary for the itinerary/voyage.
• Always effectively coordinates the proofreading process for all translated printed collateral.
• Provides ongoing support to onboard departments in typesetting, design, and/or layout work for translated collateral.
• Always creates comprehensive handover notes and carries out handover training when required
• Where required, creates new or updates current pieces of translated collateral for shoreside management approval
• Always works with the Printer to ensure translated materials are produced in tandem with their English versions.
• Always liaises with onboard departments prior to production to ensure their required translations and printed collateral requests are accommodated.
• Always prepares well in advance for seasonal and special occasion materials
• Always allocates sufficient time to proofread materials before releasing them for production.
• Provides all completed templates and files to the Printer for prepress preparation in timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge and working skills in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic to intermediate knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, NetChef and Lotus Notes.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fluent in English and Traditional Chinese with strong communication skills
• Translation experience preferred
• Ability to succeed in a team environment
