Adventure Host (f/m) on 4/5* River cruise ships for the season 2021

Responsibilities & tasks:

Perform daily exercises with guests
Present during designated ’Host hours’ to answer guests’ questions and socialize
Assist the guests with the bikes
Participate in Port Talks to recommend activities ashore for the next day
Help the cleaning of the Lounge area after Port Talk
Take guests for after dinner walks when possible
Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the Adventure Center, fitness room and all the related equipment
Maintain and record inventory; ordering of equipment as necessary
Checking and cleaning of all the helmets, mats and similar equipment immediately after use
Escort active tours when necessary (especially on Active Discovery Cruises)
Map out and add additional routes to the already existing database (share with other ships and Adventure Hosts)
Hand out water and listening devices when guests are leaving for shore excursion
Participate in the ’Welcome Back’ offering drinks/towels
Participate in loadings if not on active shore excursion
Participate in luggage duty/as welcome escort if not on active shore excursion
Additional duties as instructed by the Hotel Manager

Requirements & skills:

Qualifications as a personal or group trainer, instructor or related certificate mandatory (e.g. Yoga, Pilates, Thai Chi, etc.)
In excellent physical condition
Fluent in English
Outgoing and friendly personality
Calm and adaptable to various groups
Flexible and willing to learn and improve
Team player
Positive and ’can-do’ attitude, able to motivate guests and generate a good experience
Very good organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable with speaking in front of large groups (and on a microphone)
Has to be able to run, cycle, hike and kayak
Experience in related field at least 2 years
Previous experience on a river or ocean-going vessel is a plus
