Sailing Yacht Chef

We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Yacht Chef to work as the head chef onboard a classical, unique and truly authentic 51m sailing boat. You will cruise the surrounding waters of Indonesia and Bali. You must have a passion for the craftsmanship of sailing boats, alongside your high-standards of contemporary culinary skills. Our client is looking for a chef with the capabilities to make simple dishes stand out through flavours and sauces. You should be well presented, understanding of UHNW guests, as well as enjoy working well in a close knit team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a passion for travelling, well made, simplistic dishes and a love for beautiful sailing yachts.

Responsibilities

• To represent the high standard and authentic sailing yacht as the chef onboard
• To present relevant cooking skills that relate to the guests onboard and the sailing yacht concept; classical craftsmanship
• To cook for UHNW guests from all over the world who have high standards
• To work under pressure and in a guest facing, open kitchen
• To make simple, not overly complicated dishes that are well presented and have exceptional flavours
• To ensure a well maintained kitchen and cleanliness of appliances at all times
• To provision the fresh, local ingredients for the guests preferences
• To ensure high standards of culinary skills at all times
• To work well in a family, close knit team
• Understand guest interaction and to not be too intrusive, whilst holding friendly guest interactions

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced yacht chef with a background working onboard sailing yachts preferred
• knowledge of all cuisines whilst focusing on simple dishes with exceptional flavours and sauces
• Guest facing kitchen, therefore a chef with a welcoming personality, without being too intrusive is essential
• This is a truly unique opportunity where the sail yachts material such as the wood can never be replaced or sourced again, so someone who appreciates these fine details would be an asset
• Discreet and well mannered
• Someone who is open to a long term role and the adventure of travelling around Indonesian waters
• Face to face food tasting in Bali, Indonesia with the sailing yacht owner
• Interview will take place via Whatsapp video or Zoom

Package: 

• Salary: $3500 per month

Full time, seasonal position (seasons are year long charters)

Live onboard whilst on charter and in an apartment when off charter

You will pay for your own apartment in Bali when there are no guests onboard
