JOB PURPOSE
The Learning & Development Manager primarily support the HR Director on all onboard learning, development and engagement initiatives, including e-learning, to ensure the ships are in compliance with the training requirements set by the Crew Learning & Strategy Team from MSC Cruises shore-based Headquarter.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The HR Learning and Development Manager is responsible for administering and validating that all Crew have received their applicable trainings as per Company Instructions, tracking training completion progress and, if needed, escalate to various Heads of Departments for mobilization of their respective crew for improvement in training uptake.
The HR L&D Manager is more precisely responsible for:
- Overseeing the learning & development programs, is the e-learning system owner onboard and ensure all crew are knowledgeable and compliant with regulations through our e-learnings
- Ensure consistent reporting and observance of all learning requirements, including e-learning
- Take care of the Train the Trainer training onboard, the learning calendar and support our trainers
- Make the necessary follow up after the train the trainer program by continuously supporting and coaching the managers in delivering on the job training, by tracking this is being done and by reporting to the headquarters
- Conduct (soft skills) and facilitate (technical training) learning sessions and other learning initiatives, inspiring our crew and management with a communicative, empathetic, open-minded, and highly adaptable approach
- Create and execute actions together with HRD and the shoreside Crew Learning and Strategy team
- Make sure that all the on-the-job training needed for internal mobility or promotion moves are correctly performed onboard, liaising with the onboard Head of Departments, the Crew HR Coordinators and the Crew Learning and Strategy Team
- Proactively work with Head of Departments to create training plans when/if needed.
- Report issues on e-learning and other learning activities or ideas to TFS - Learning and Corporate Crew Learning Manager
- Report on learning programs, targets, sessions, compliance, and attendance
- Support when required the HRD with day-to-day tasks and administration of onboard operations, creating and maintaining a positive working environment for our crew: from administrative tasks to engagement activities, from onboarding to internal mobility, etc.
- If required, create and manage the wellbeing calendar ensuring our crew is motivated and well taken care of
- Oversee the delivery of wellbeing activities and crew recognition programs, ensuring crew is motivated
- Report for wellbeing spaces, activities, and budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Learning & Development, HR, Teaching or Education or CIPD qualified
- 3 years previous experience in a similar position and/or as trainer
- Excellent public speaking skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written & verbal skills
- High interpersonal competencies - Passion for people and their wellbeing
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint...
- Experience with blended learning and LMS programs
- Fluent in English (B2 level) and any other language is a strong advantage
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Passport with at least a year of residual validity.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
