The STCW is invaluable for those who are going to work on board charter yachts, coded vessels, passenger and/or commercial carrying vessels internationally. During the STCW course you will fulfil the requirements for the STCW Basic Safety Training course regulations by learning: personal safety & social responsibility, first-aid, personal survival techniques, basic fire fighting and fire prevention.

The STCW course is intended for those mariners who wish to work on all classes of marine vessels internationally.

On successful course completion with Zephyr Yachting, participants will be issued with an internationally recognised STCW certificate which is Marshall Island approved. Marshall Island recognised certificates are internationally recognised and is listed accordingly under the white flag of recognised training by the IMO.

STCW classes are kept to a small number of students so that candidates gain maximum benefits from the tuition. Using the latest teaching aids, world class trainers with industry experience who put an emphasis on practical learning and understanding of the topics to ensure that passing the STCW exam is a breeze.

The STCW is thought in English, however all the staff are capable of speaking at least one other language.

Basic Safety Training (5 modules).

Required for every seafarer working on ships; the course covers the modules required by the STCW convention, A-VI/1 1-4 and 6:

  1. Elementary First Aid, (Cost of the module alone: €200)
  2. Personal Survival Techniques, (Cost of the module alone: €250)
  3. Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, (Cost of the module alone: €190)
  4. Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (Cost of the module alone: €650)
  5. Security Awareness. (Cost of the module alone: €190)

Please note that the “Security Awareness for Seafarers with designated security duties” is an extra module since the latter applies only to seafarers with such duties serving on ships which fall under the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facilities Security) Code.
