Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and mentor the Stage Crew team to deliver safe, seamless, and high-quality technical support for all entertainment and events.
• Operate, program, and troubleshoot state-of-the-art stage automation systems for all productions, ensuring precise, reliable movement of scenic elements at all times.
• Uphold the highest safety standards for cast, company, guest entertainers, and occasionally guests on stage, proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
• Respond quickly and calmly to technical issues during rehearsals and performances, making real-time decisions to protect safety and show integrity.
• Plan and carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on automated stage systems, scenic elements, props, and related equipment, maintaining accurate records.
• Manage the organization, storage, and inventory of scenic elements, props, and technical equipment to ensure readiness and efficient show turnaround.
• Prepare and manage Stage Crew work schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for rehearsals, performances, and events while supporting work–life balance where possible.
• Coach, train, and develop Stage Crew in safe working practices, automation operation, and show procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Production Manager and Entertainment leadership to plan, deliver, and continuously enhance dynamic, cutting-edge entertainment programs.
• Champion Princess Cruises’ safety, environmental, and guest service standards within the technical team, contributing to an outstanding onboard entertainment experience.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in theatre, live events, touring productions, or a similar entertainment environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of stage automation systems and show control, with hands-on experience operating or maintaining automated rigging, lifts, revolves, and tracking scenery.
• Solid understanding of stagecraft, including scenic construction, rigging principles, props handling, and backstage operations.
• Proven track record of working safely at height and around moving machinery, with a thorough understanding of safety and risk assessment procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a technical or crew-based role, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure during live performances.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan maintenance, manage inventory, and coordinate complex show and rehearsal schedules.
• Clear and confident communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to give and follow technical instructions.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills, able to build trust and work effectively with performers, production management, and cross-functional shipboard teams.
• Genuine passion for theatre and live entertainment, with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in line with Princess Cruises’ service standards.
• Willingness to live and work at sea for extended periods, adapting to a multicultural, fast-paced shipboard environment.
