Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an engaging, guest-centric entertainment experience by creating the right soundtrack for key activities, parties, and events in line with brand standards, Service Excellence principles, and health and sanitization protocols (HESS).
• Act as a charismatic host and MC during events, using strong microphone, crowd-reading, and interpersonal skills to build rapport, encourage participation, and create memorable moments for guests of all ages and demographics.
• Curate and adapt playlists in real time to match the venue, audience profile, and itinerary, drawing on broad music knowledge across genres, eras, and cultures to enhance the onboard atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with Entertainment leadership and onboard teams to plan, prepare, and execute the entertainment program, ensuring seamless transitions between activities and consistent delivery of the Princess brand experience.
• Take ownership of assigned entertainment venues, ensuring timely and correct setup, sound checks, lighting ambiance, and safe operation of all DJ and AV equipment in accordance with company and HESS standards.
• Proactively anticipate guest needs and respond to feedback and requests in a professional, friendly manner, resolving issues promptly and escalating where appropriate to protect the guest experience.
• Support cross-promotion of onboard activities, events, and revenue-generating venues (e.g. bars, lounges, specialty events) through announcements, music selection, and positive guest interactions.
• Protect and maintain all assigned equipment and consumables, supporting cost-saving initiatives by using resources responsibly and reporting any technical issues or maintenance needs without delay.
• Stay informed about itinerary, ports of call, onboard products, and current entertainment initiatives to confidently share information with guests and teammates.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures, including safety, security, environmental, and public health requirements, and actively participate in required drills, trainings, and briefings.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Professional DJ / Entertainment Experience: Proven experience as a DJ or Entertainment Host in clubs, resorts, cruise ships, events, or similar guest-facing environments, with a track record of delivering high-energy, engaging performances.
• Music Knowledge & Versatility: Broad and current knowledge of music across multiple genres, eras, and cultures, with the ability to read the room and seamlessly adapt playlists to different audiences, venues, and event types.
• Stage Presence & Hosting Skills: Confident, charismatic, and energetic microphone technique with excellent crowd interaction, storytelling, and improvisation skills that encourage guest participation and create memorable experiences.
• Technical Skills: Competent in operating DJ equipment and related audio/visual systems (e.g. mixers, controllers, playback devices, microphones, basic lighting), with the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and follow setup and shutdown procedures.
• Guest Service & Hospitality Mindset: Strong focus on guest satisfaction, with the ability to remain approachable, professional, and solution-oriented while interacting with guests from diverse cultures and age groups.
• Communication Skills: Good command of the English language, both verbal and written, with clear and engaging communication style; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a multicultural entertainment and hotel team, supporting colleagues and adapting to changing schedules, programming, and priorities.
• Resilience & Adaptability: Comfortable working at sea in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, with flexibility to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the entertainment schedule.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to prepare sets in advance, manage requests, and maintain accurate records or reports as required.
• Health, Safety & Compliance Awareness: Basic understanding of public health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to following company policies, HESS protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Professional Appearance & Conduct: Consistently maintains a well-groomed, professional appearance and positive attitude, acting as an ambassador for Princess Cruises at all times.
