Photo Artist – 5* Cruise Ship

You, as the BRILLIANT Photo Artist, will be responsible for the successful capture, production, and overall guest experience of Photography onboard. Photo Artists will capture ad hoc or private moments with guests onboard or ashore and have them produced and available for sale onboard and be responsible for selling additional photo productions and photo retail. You will be a highly skilled photographer who captures amazing memories for the guests.

The Photo Artist position is part of a larger Onboard Revenue team. This position will have responsibilities beyond capturing and producing photography. Also responsible for the selling, promoting, and merchandising of consumer technology retail, other retail and Wi-Fi packages.

• Salary:            $2600 USD per month Tax free – paid whilst on board only
• Rotation:        6.5 months on and 2.5 months off
• Berthing:        Shared Cabin
• Flights, accommodation and food all provided by the cruise line.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to achieve revenue and guest satisfaction targets for Wi-Fi, Photography, Retail, and other Special Projects assigned to the position.
• Photograph events onboard and ashore as required. Photo events may be ad hoc, hosted in public or private events hosted by guests.
• Maximize quality and quantity of images to meet established performance goals.
• Proactively strive to enhance photography and sales skills to achieve performance targets.
• Engage guests with lively energy and enthusiasm.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Use a range of photographic equipment, including digital SLR cameras, portrait studio equipment, computers, and image editing software.
• Assist with set up, breakdown and storage of the equipment.
• Assist with set up and breakdown of retail displays, marketing materials, and photographs.
• Capture images for marketing purposes, from on board and shore side, for both guest and crew facing collateral.
• Keep Department areas clean and organized as per company operating procedures.
• Proactively promote photo, retail and Wi-Fi services and products when interacting with guests.
• Learn, research, and understand the products sold onboard to be able to effectively explain and meet the needs of our guests and drive sales performance.
• Enjoy working with the public in a busy, active, and sometimes noisy environment.
• Compliance to company uniform, grooming and conduct standards.
• Protect all company inventory and equipment.
• Be available for other reasonable duties that your shipboard Store Manager assigns.

Shore Excursions & Destination Experiences Support

• Scheduled time in the Shore Excursions area to support the guest experience
• Dispatch duties to assist with the tour debark process
• Assigned duties as a Tour Escort to assist guests and audit the tours offered by the cruise line

Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 2 years in professional photography in a high-end photography Studio or conducting Wedding photography preferably.
• Good English communication
• Upselling experience and skills
• Strong-demonstrated knowledge and understanding of photographic exposure, composition and focus is essential.
• Must be able to use a modern Digital SLR camera, hot-shoe mounted flash and other professional equipment.
• Must have basic computer literacy, knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Must have advanced literacy, knowledge of and experience using Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Photo key and other image editing software.
• Operate computer systems and touch-screen kiosks and perform basic computer troubleshooting procedures.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require important levels of discretion, patience, tact, and diplomacy.
• Knowledge of principles for providing exemplary customer service including problem resolution and achievement of quality service standards.
• Work independently and function under pressure in a deadline oriented, fast paced environment for extended periods.
• Must enjoy working with the public in a busy, active, and sometimes noisy environment.

Required technical qualifications:

• IOS and Android operating systems
• iCafe management (assignment of vouchers and packages) (ideal, but not required)
• Central Management tool (CMT) & IQ Photography management system (ideal, but not required)
• Lightroom, Photo key and Photoshop
