As a 3rd Electrical Engineer aboard our vessel, I am responsible for executing maintenance and repairs of electrical, electronic, and automation systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. Reporting to the 1st Electrical Engineer, I assist in monitoring machinery, troubleshooting electrical issues, and supporting the maintenance team to minimize downtime. My role involves reading schematics, performing repairs with minimal supervision, and ensuring all work aligns with the company's safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support the Engine Watch Officer in monitoring machinery operations.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing engine room, hotel, and auxiliary systems.
- Coordinate and execute electrical, electronic, and automation system maintenance and repairs.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
- Prioritize workload effectively, working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Participate actively in safety drills and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- University/College degree or shipboard electrical experience.
- Valid electrician license recognized by the flag state (preferred).
- Proficient in electrical, electronic, and automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and participating in emergency procedures.
- Full range of physical mobility and sensory abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English for instructions and safety protocols.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
