Family Activities Host – Cruise Line

As the Family Activities Host, you will be hosting and participating in shipboard recreational, entertainment programs geared towards kids and families. You will serve as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of kids and families throughout their cruise vacation. Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various venues and throughout the ship.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains continual interaction with the guests. Hosts and participates in children and family recreational programs and activities.
• Participates as master of ceremonies or host for all family activities, events, kids and family parades, kids themed nights and special group functions such as, but not limited to, charters, affinity, promotional, incentive, presentations, and various theme night arrangements.
• Assembles and disassembles pre and post activity props and equipment. Returns items to storage area.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for hosting activities.
• Participates in Adventure Ocean themed activities, and hosts Family Activities, Family Festivals, and Boardwalk activities. This includes, but is not limited to: Talent Shows, Puppet Shows, Circus performances, Face Painting, Balloon Animals and costume parades.
• Participates in shows and events presented by the Cruise Director Division: activities, theme nights, parties, parades and game shows.
• May serve as master of ceremonies for activities. This includes, but is not limited to: Theater pre-shows, Promenade events, Captain’s Receptions, loyalty events, theme night productions, charity partnerships events, special group functions, family sports events and sail away parties.
• Assist with various cross utilization duties such as but not limited to: sports desk, box office, show doors, gangway duties, embarkation, debarkation, and crowd control.

Requiremnets:

• Two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, cruise lines, entertainment or recreational industries required.
• At least one year experience working with children in a theatre, dance, recreational and educational settings.
• Ability to provide highly efficient balloon making and face painting skills.
• Activity class offerings preferred: dance instruction, craft classes, fitness classes, singing, etc.
• Ability to provide a special talent or skill as a personal specialty class preferred.
• Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with microphone effective and courteous microphone techniques. Experience on a microphone required.
• Ability to provide basic instruction to a large group of people.
• Ability to utilize customer service skills by exercising authority and discretion to satisfy guests in a manner consistent with Royal Way Brand Standards.
• Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software basic packages.
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
• Degree from a college or university in theatre, performance, recreational, dance or education preferred.

Applicants must also have a high level of English and be able to obtain a USA C1/D Visa if successful.
