PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Corporate Captain (CCT) delivers safe, compliant, and cost-efficient navigation in the assigned fleet area.
The CCT coordinates itinerary deviations -end-to-end, bridges ship and shore office through clear, timely
communication, upholds Viking standards for people, vessel presentation, and safety, and steps in as Captain
when required. The CCT owns the nautical crew planning, leading the Nautical Planner and the Nautical
Instructor,- so training and multi-year scheduling align with the required licenses and certificates.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

\u00A0

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Captain, the CCT is a member of the Core Team led by the Corporate
Operational Manager (COM); for Core Team matters, the CCT works under the COM\u2019s supervision. The CCT
travels about 80% of the time, regularly visiting ships in the assigned area. Together with the Core Team, the
CCT organizes deviations from start to end\u2014working with locks & docks team to align sailing schedules and
coordinate alternative port bookings, so guest impact is minimized. The CCT also conducts internal SMS audits
per assigned ship each year. Leading position in the WH, the CCT contributes also to winter Harbor Academy
training to keep crews informed and connected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\u00A0

\u2022 Ensure that voyages are executed safely, in compliance with regulations and company standards, and
with appropriate manning across assigned vessels; resolve operational obstacles promptly to protect
the guest experience.
\u2022 Own the nautical crew planning: lead the Nautical Planner and the Nautical Instructor; maintain
multiyear crewing plans and development; align training and scheduling with required licenses and
certificates; serve as liaison between HR and shipboard leadership on well-being- and staffing matters.
\u2022 Organize deviations end-to-end- with the Core Team, coordinating sailing schedules and alternative
port bookings with locks & docks, document actions in the Teams Deviation and Incident channels
when required.
\u2022 Ensure effective communication between ship and head office; maintain vessel condition to Viking
brand standards.
\u2022 Coach Captains and the nautical team on board; direct task support from the Masters group; uphold
performance and discipline in line with company policy.
\u2022 Conduct internal SMS and Green Award audits per assigned ship each year; ensure timely closure of
findings and complete documentation; maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

\u00A0

\u2022 Licensed inland Captain for relevant waterways (e.g., Rhine, Danube) with required operational
certificates.
\u2022 Minimum four years\u2019 experience as Captain or in fleet\u2011level operations; multi\u2011vessel exposure
preferred.
\u2022 Proven record in deviations, internal audits, and team development/nautical crew planning.
Clear communicator; effective coach and stakeholder manager in multicultural settings.
\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft 365; precise written reporting.
\u2022 Fluent English; German or French at business level.

EDUCATION

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Inland Shipping, Nautical Science, Maritime Operations) or
equivalent professional formation.
\u2022 Up to date licenses and certificates for assigned regions.
