Market Place Host

Your Purpose

The primary duty of Marketplace Host is to provide friendly, courteous, and professional service in theEmporium Market Place and behind the food service lines.

Your Impact

• Must report for duty at the assigned times following their superiors' instructions in line with the Explora Journeys' Rules and Regulations.

• Must be thoroughly familiar and efficient with the food service line operation, set-up, refill, and clearance, ensuring the food service line is consistently presentable and equipped with the correct chinaware, cold plates for cold food, and hot plates for hot food.

• Perform all duties as requested by the management.

• Set up, organize, clean, and maintain designated stations according to P.H. standards.

• Possess proficient knowledge about the menu explanation and standard.

• Assist the Guests with their common requests.

• Anticipate Guests' needs.

• Provides personalized service with a smile.

• Give special attention to VIPs, demanding and most traveled Guests.

• Collect the food from the galley to the respective section and carry back the dirty trays as per P.H. and breakage prevention standards.

• Ensure all food items are protected, labeled, and always nicely displayed/refilled.

• Correctly apply the food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes.

• Performs vacuuming and cleaning of the restaurant areas.

• Handles all ship equipment carefully and reports any faulty/broken equipment.

• Ensure that the food requisitions are made depending on consumption and needs. These requisitions must always be checked and signed by the Maître D'.

Your Journey So Far

• Experience in 4/5-star restaurants, hotels or resorts is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge on food safety.

• Good interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

• Passion for hospitality and customer service driven.

• Cruise industry experience is an advantage.

• Basic proficiency in computers/applications.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Your Essentials

• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.

• Food Safety/HACCP certificate required.
