Your Purpose
Explora Journeys is a vibrant, cosmopolitan, European luxury brand, imagined in the heart of Swiss hospitality in Geneva. Leveraging our parent company MSC Group’s hundreds of years of maritime expertise, our fleet of six luxury ships (four currently in the pipeline) are being built and designed in a totally different and unique way that will transform and redefine the cruise experience, creating a category of its own, appealing to the next generation of luxury travellers.
An exciting opportunity exists for a talented media professional with strong marketing and commercial acumen to join our newly created luxury travel brand Explora Journeys, to become Global Integrated Media Director based in our office in Geneva, Switzerland.
Your Impact
- Strategy: lead global strategic media guidelines and implementation of Explora Journey’s global media strategy. Lead annual media briefing across markets, in both offline and online channels, step-changing lead times, planning capability and excellence in delivery.
- Delivery: co-create local media plans with the markets, providing executional guidance and support, assessing delivery throughout the year and recommending improvements.
- People management: lead a team of 3 direct reports for digital media, while handling traditional media planning independently with the markets.
- Digital and performance media: lead digital media strategy, planning and execution across markets via in-house team and agency partners, in seamless partnership with local markets.
- Measurement & performance analysis: set-up and own the integrated measurement of media across the entire marketing funnel, setting-up/connecting data streams between external partners and our internal data performance teams. Monitor and analyse media performance against brand, media and commercial KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement, including reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Agency and vendor relationships: own agency and key vendor relationships, developing joint business plans and annual assessments. Lead any media or other vendor pitches.
- Media thought leadership & innovation: own the innovation plan across channels. Identify the latest media industry developments, recommending test & learn plans to integrate the relevant areas to Explora journey’s media strategy.
- Build media literacy: step-change media knowledge in the global organization globally, in markets and across departments to enhance media planning capabilities and excellence in delivery.
- Budget management: own the global media budget planning, spending and stewardship, including agency/vendor management.
Your Journey so far
- 15+ years of client side roles in global and local media including planning, ATL/BTL and directly running digital media.
- Outstanding luxury media understanding: in-depth knowledge of offline and digital media, the interdependencies between paid, owned and earned media, as well as luxury media specifics.
- Experienced people manager. Effectively organizing teams to deliver business outcomes, identifying individual strengths and aligning these with workstreams. Outstanding people management skills, growing individual team members.
- Proven ability to roll-up your sleeves and execute with excellence on the projects you will handle directly (without support from your direct reports).
- Track record of managing agencies and partners and building effective partnerships.
Your Essentials
- Strategic and innovative critical thinker.
- Structured, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects, thriving in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Outstanding collaboration and influencing skills, with proven ability to navigate a matrix organisation.
- Proven analytical skills with proficiency in media tools and platforms (e.g. platform analytics).
- Strong preference for prior experience in the luxury or luxury hospitality/travel industry. A personal passion for luxury travel and global mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English.
- Passion and curiosity to continuously learn about the ever-evolving media industry.
