4th Electrical Engineer

Join our advanced fleet’s Electrical Department as a 4th Electrical Engineer, working closely with the Chief Engineer. In this role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of the ship’s electrical systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency onboard. Your work will support everything from navigation to safety systems, contributing to the smooth functioning of our state-of-the-art vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining and repairing all electrical and electronic systems onboard.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the ship’s power plant, propulsion, and critical systems.
• Support the operation of the electrical plant and associated equipment, including navigation, safety systems, and elevators.
• Perform PMS and keep records up to date.
• Follow instructions from senior engineers and assist with various operational tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Training:

• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles; ability to interpret diagrams.
• Experience with electrical measuring instruments is a plus.
• Educational background in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Engineering.
• Basic Safety Training compliant with STCW standards.

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in reading and writing in English to understand procedures and documentation.
• Ability to give and receive instructions effectively in both written and verbal forms.
• Capable of presenting information clearly and responding to questions from guests, colleagues, and supervisors.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, talk, hear, and taste or smell regularly.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual acuity to include close, distance, colour, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Must be physically capable of participating in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills, including lowering lifeboats.
• Ability to work in various environments, including noisy engine control rooms and engine spaces.
• Flexibility to work irregular schedules and overtime as required.
