The Activity Host will act as the energy generator for daytime entertainment and evening events. The Activity Host along with the Activity Manager and DJ make up the Cruise Directors core team in delivering the Celebrity Cruises Entertainment Experience. Serves as Master of Ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of guests throughout their cruise vacation. Through socializing, hosting daytime and evening entertainment, the Activity Host will establish a highly visible and engaging presence.

 Responsibilities:

 

  • Motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of guests throughout their cruise vacation.
  • Establish a highly visible and engaging presence through socializing and hosting daytime and evening entertainment.

 


Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Arts, Recreation, Leisure Studies, Public Relations, Communication or related field from an accredited university or college or the international equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in an upscale hotel, resort, theme park or cruise ship. (shipboard experience preferred).
  • One to two years Master of Ceremonies or professional entertainment (theater, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with upscale hotel, resort, theme park or cruise ships preferred.

 


Required Skills: 

 

  • Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with engaging and courteous microphone techniques to serve as master of ceremonies at major events and shows.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, and in alignment with brand standards.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to interact appropriately with guests in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and independently.
  • Has a vibrant and outgoing personality, exudes energy and positivity, with the ability to elevate the ambience in all social and professional interactions.
  • Ability to fulfill the above-mentioned Key Responsibilities and all reasonable company requests.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship and in a 4/5* Hotel or Upscale Restaurant.
