Performance Lead

Your Purpose

Live music is at the heart of our entertainment programme, and differentiates us from the rest. As a Principal Vocalist you will enhance our guests’ journey by delivering the best possible standard and wide array of musical experiences while creating a transformative luxury ocean travel experience for our guests.

Your Impact

• Deliver the Explora Journeys Entertainment Program to an exceptional standard, designed to help guests reach the Ocean State of Mind.

• The ability to sing in a range of genres and styles, including, but not limited to, Pop, Rock, Country, RandB, Jazz, Soul, Swing and Classical.

• The ability to host a stage performance and effectively communicate with and engage an audience.

• The ability to read sheet music in all the above genres and styles is preferable.

• Principal Vocalists should have their own show; this repertoire could include well-known songs and original compositions.

• Perform up to a maximum of five sets each day. A standard set is considered to be no less than 45 minutes in length, unless otherwise assigned by the EM.

• Collaborate with other departments in line with the Explora Journeys Entertainment Program.

• Be prepared to perform at all times, days, onboard, in-ports and, where appropriate, ashore. Including (but not limited to) Afternoon Tea, Sailaway, and Sunset Cocktails.

• Attend appropriate rehearsals/practice as scheduled by the Lead Resident Artiste.

• Work with other performers and musicians to develop further content and performances in keeping with brand DNA.

• If requested, organise, and conduct music lessons / experiences in collaboration with other team members.

• Participate in performance related activities as required.

• Perform in a variety of entertainment music events e.g., musical quizzes, live karaoke etc as required.

• Ensure personal equipment issued on board, such as iPads for storing and filing documents, are well maintained.

• Must be willing to authentically socialise, engage with and assist guests, while being a genuine brand ambassador for Explora Journeys throughout the Journey.

• Promote all entertainment activities, events and rituals.

• Document comments and complaints reported by the guests in cooperation with the Guest Services Department.

• Ensure delivered content is professional, non-offensive to the audience and in line with the Explora Journeys’ brand standards.

• Have an active role and assist in Departmental Crew Events, this could be on a weekly, monthly, or as required basis.

Your Journey So Far

• Excellent singing skills in a wide range of genres and styles.

• Extensive experience of performing on stage with live musicians.

• 1 x 45 Minute Headline Show. Including;

• Music Charts arranged for 6-Piece (Keys, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Reeds, Horns)

• LED Digital Content

• Collaboration in other performances throughout the Contract

• Experience of hosting live musical events and talking to an audience.

• Technically proficient and able to use a variety of appropriate musical / sound / lighting equipment.

• Knowledge of similar competitive products in the cruise and luxury resort Industry is considered an advantage.

• Physically and medically fit as per Explora Journeys

• Company policy. Computer literacy required. Basic Windows based programs knowledge.

• Proficient in English. Additional European languages are advantageous.

Your Essentials

• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.
