Waste Management Lead

Your Purpose

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Waste Management Lead  to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”.  The Waste Management Lead assists with the waste management facility in compliance with company policies, leading Waste Operators personnel and relevant activities. He / She safely and professionally supervises all duties associated with the operation of the waste management, reporting any malfunction of equipment to the Environmental Officer.

Your Impact

• Supervise tasks and activities related to the waste management operation, reporting any malfunction of waste treatment equipment and tools to the Environmental Compliance Officer

• Lead the Waste Management Staff according to the Environmental Compliance Officer directions.

• Properly operate the waste treatment equipment in the Recycling Center, reporting any malfunction of waste treatment equipment and tools to the Environmental Compliance Officer

• Separate, handle and store waste in the Recycling Center and permitted areas.

• When permitted and advised by the Environmental Compliance Officer, give instructions, and lead the Waste Management Staff activities and/or perform the discharge at sea of the comminuted food waste in compliance with the applicable regulations.

• Ensure the recovery and storage of the incinerator ash from the incinerator.

• Perform the waste offloading operations according to the relevant instructions.

• Ensure that all relevant operations are carried out in compliance with the Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, and supervise their application.

Your Journey So Far

Proficient in English. Any additional languages, particularly European languages, is considered an advantage. Explora Fleet English Level: B1

Full compliance with the requirement of the Law Flag State of the ship regarding Safety and health and physical requirements.Documentation according with STCW
