Hotel Engineer

Your Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and following the business objectives indicated by the General Manager and Staff Captain, the Hotel Maintenance Engineer oversees the general planned and unplanned upkeep and maintenance of the front and back of the house of the Explora Journeys vessels and is actively participating in coaching, mentoring, and training all the Engine department officers and staff.

Your Impact

•To implement, instruct and promote Company Policies concerning Safety, safe working practices and prevention of injuries and pollution.

•To ensure the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of all on-board assets and cooperate with General Manager for the upkeep of Hotel areas and Staff Captain for the external appearance of the ship

•To lead professionally and safely the efficient and cooperative operation of all the assigned Teams in the engine department.

•To implement the Company Policy regarding Ship Safety, pollution prevention and injury prevention for crew and passengers.

•To represent the Technical Department during the Hotel Technical Team chaired by the General Manager or her/his delegates to ensure Technical Department strategic alinement with the Explora Journeys objectives and compliance with Company Standards.

•To plan, coordinate and inspect the safe and efficient progress of all planned and unplanned works while assuring that the workforce is fully utilised and that no waste of resources may occur.

•To effectively plan, size and direct the recurring Flying Team attendance visits and maintain discretion over the shore support workflow process.

•To ensure the proper maintenance and effective working conditions of all the assigned equipment and systems on board, as detailed by the Chief Engineer delegations.

•To ensure the Ship and Shore management that a high level of husbandry is always maintained within the Hotel front and back of the house and all Technical spaces assigned to his/her supervision by accurately plan in advance, delegate and assign daily planned and unplanned tasks to Team members.

•To maintain discretion over the issue of replenishment and the use of stocks and consumables in order to maintain accurate inventory and to maximise the assigned budgets.

• Operates with the full consideration for the comfort of Guests - this is a prime consideration of the Company.

Your Journey So Far

• Extensive experience with diverse Luxury/Premium hospitality venues in the dining operations.

• Previous experience in Start Ups/Pre-openings is an advantage.

• Excellent and proven management and organizational skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Passionate about hospitality and customer service driven.

Full compliance with the requirement of the Law Flag State of the ship regarding Safety and health and physical requirements.Documentation according with STCW
