Your Purpose

The Doctor’s main responsibility is to deliver customer focused, high quality care for all patients attending the ship’s Medical Centre.

Your Impact

• To provide premier concierge medical services and deliver evidence based medical care for guests and crew as required.

• To comply with all clinical governance processes regarding quality and safety of care onboard.

• Collaborate with shipboard and shoreside stakeholders wherever necessary to ensure an excellent customer experience.

• Respond as necessary to customer complaints and implement service recovery strategies.

• Document accurate and complete electronic healthcare records in SeaCare, always adhering to medical and personal data protection laws in clinical records and communications.

• Assist the Lead Doctor, the on-board leadership team, and third-party stakeholders as necessary to coordinate responses to significant health related incidents.

• Utilize resources such as telehealth or shoreside specialist referrals for guests and crew as needed to optimize clinical outcomes.

• Comply with all company, local and international requirements related to contagious conditions.

• Participate and encourage engagement with continuous medical education programs.

• Teamwork – within medical department and other onboard departments

• Ensure that all crew members have valid medical certificate and medical documentation required for the embarkation including vaccination

Your Journey So Far

• Medical Degree with at least 5 years of post-graduate / post-registration clinical experience.

• Current full registration and a valid license to practice.

• Standard of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) and all other certification and documentation in force at the time of contract.

• Previous maritime medicine experience onboard international cruise ships.

• Competence in emergency care including emergency airway skills, and certification in Emergency resuscitation (ALS / ACLS). Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS, EPALS) or equivalent, preferred.

• Ability to respond competently to common adult and paediatric routine and emergent conditions.

• Competence in procedural sedation.

• Competence in non-emergent clinical procedures including management of common fractures and dislocations, suturing, and wound management.

• Emergency Medicine, Remote Care or Critical Care experience is considered an advantage.

• Computer literate. Experience of using Electronic Healthcare Records platform an advantage.

• High standards of professionalism and customer service.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-national, multi-disciplinary team.

• Lead and participate in medical department clinical education and training.

• Maintain a positive workplace culture.

• Must have computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment. Basic Windows based programs knowledge

• Proficient in English. Any additional languages, particularly European languages is considered an advantage.
