**THIS IS TO WORK ONBOARD*
The Light Technician (LGHT) is responsible for the programming, safe operation and maintenance of all lighting, show control and haze/fog systems in the various entertainment venues for a variety of produced entertainment, events and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to Stage Production Manager(s) and follows schedules set by the Head Sound & Light Technician.
- Programs, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots all entertainment lighting, show control, and haze/fog systems onboard.
- Supports setup and breakdown of lighting equipment for shows, events, and themed activities.
- Works with performers and guests to plan lighting needs and update show files accordingly.
- Maintains original technical and artistic design; any changes require formal approval.
- Performs routine maintenance, inspections, inventory control, and completes work orders to ensure equipment readiness.
- Conducts daily checks, keeps accurate records and backups, trains team members, and ensures compliance with safety, company policies, and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
- Bachelors or Associates in Technical Theater, Sound, Lights, A/V preferred.
- Background in stage, technical theater and production (i.e. electrical, technical, light and sound) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with hands-on programming and operation of live performance lighting, as well as regular maintenance and upkeep on conventional and intelligent lighting.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information to subordinates and colleagues.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
