Job Summary:
The video editor is a key member of the photo and video production team, working closely with cross-functional team. The main responsibility of the video editor is to manage video content, edit content keeping in mind the brand, the product and ensuring accuracy. The video editor collaborates with the creative studio, brand teams, product development teams, and third-party production teams to ensure the video content aligns with the company's vision and mission. Work collaboratively as part of a global team that includes creative leads, project managers, and business stakeholders. Together we analyze data and implement new strategies to improve performance. The video editor also manages the digital assets, organizes the project files, and prepares the content for various distribution platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain project files, manage B-roll and creative content, in multiple platforms.

  • Manage file migration to the cloud from physical drives to ensure proper accessibility to cross-functional teams
  • \n
  • Archive, organize, and manage digital assets in a cloud and local library
  • \n
\n

Manage & Edit footage to create compelling narratives, incorporating music, graphics, color grading, and sound effects.

  • Own the entire post-production process under the guidance of the S. Manager to ensure all content is ready to be used by various creative teams.
  • \n
  • Research, source and license royalty-free footage, images, music, and sound effects that fit within the edits.
  • \n
  • Address stakeholder feedback and collaborate cross-functionally with other creatives and departments.
  • \n
  • Audit existing content to ensure adherence to company brand standards.
  • \n
  • Ensure consistency in visual elements and messaging across all video content. Ensuring content meets editorial, ethical, and legal standards and aligns with our brand guidelines.
  • \n
  • Create Broll from various projects that can be used for multiple purposes such as commercials.
  • \n
  • Routinely create and maintain backups of footage and project files.
  • \n

Demonstrate proficiency in configuring export settings for various platforms, ensuring optimal quality and compatibility.

  • Use the appropriate video format, resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, and bitrate for each platform.
  • \n
  • Test the video quality and playback on different devices and browsers before uploading.
  • \n
  • Compress the video files to reduce the size and load time without compromising the quality.
  • \n
\n

Source stock footage, graphics, and music from libraries when required.

  • Search for and download high-quality and royalty-free stock footage, graphics, and music that match the theme and mood of the video content.
  • \n
  • Track sources and obtain the necessary licenses and permissions for using the stock materials.
  • \n
  • Edit and integrate the stock materials into the video content seamlessly and creatively.
  • \n
  • Ensure copywriting and licensing is up to date.
  • \n

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Evidence of good work habits including but not limited to being on time, following Viking workplace policies, arriving prepared for meetings and events, being responsive, and following through on all supervisor and staff requests.
  • \n
  • Assist leadership on ad-hoc special projects when needed.
  • \n

Job Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • Bachelor's degree
  • \n
  • 3-5 years of editing experience, preferably for a large brand
  • \n
  • Experience and knowledge of post-production workflows and the ability to improve processes for increased efficiency.
  • \n
  • Knowledge, training or experience using Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • \n
  • Knowledge of industry file formats, codecs, and their proper handling in a post-production workflow
  • \n
  • Interest in continuous professional learning and development within digital video media best practices, new AI tools, and production tools
  • \n
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

    • Salary range $85,000 - $95,000 annually determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations.
