What You Will Do
You will play a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant waste management onboard, contributing to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.
- Act as Designated Person within the Garbage Management Plan, responsible for all waste management processes onboard
- Monitor proper waste segregation and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures
- Coordinate waste disposal operations and ensure correct labeling, storage, and landing of all waste types
- Prepare Waste Notifications for ports and ensure compliance with ship-specific Waste Disposal Schedules
- Support audits and inspections, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide training and guidance to crew on waste management and hazardous materials handling
- Promote process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and sustainability projects onboard
- Act as a point of contact between ship and shore for waste management initiatives
Who You Are
You are a structured and motivated professional with a strong interest in sustainability and environmental operations, eager to work in a dynamic and international environment.
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or equivalent
- Experience in waste management, wastewater management, or strong sustainability background
- Fluent English (minimum B2 level)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage operational processes
- Good communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment
Nice to have
- Experience in maritime or cruise industry
- Experience in supervising teams or coordinating operational activities
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance procedures
