Led by the Assistant Cruise Director, the Golf & Sports Hosts will assist the Cruise Director in delivering a fun, modern golf and sports programme onboard Marella Explorer 2. The department consists of a team of Entertainment Hosts, Production Cast Members, a Technical
Manager and team of Technicians, a Children’s Host Team, as well as a Musical Director and team of Resident Musicians.
In addition to all resident Crew/Officers within the Entertainment Department, fly on/off Guest Entertainers will also join the department’s complement each week.
As a member of the Entertainment Team, your individual responsibilities will be to manage and host the on-board golf simulators within the ‘19th Hole’ bar/venue.
You will also be responsible for hosting various sporting activities and events, as instructed by the Assistant Cruise Director.
Daily PR and social networking around the ship, alongside the hosting of events must be undertaken in order to maximise yours and the facilities’ profile. Supporting and maximizing revenue generation by promoting and advertising your facility is also a vital part of your role.
As a member of the Entertainment Department, a position of responsibility will be held with regards to emergency procedures, guest mustering and drills; specific training will be received regarding this, both prior to joining and regularly onboard.

Experience and Skill Set
The Golf & Sports Hosts should have at least one year’s experience in working with diverse and varied activity programmes, within a cruise ship, holiday park, resort or hotel environment.
Professional hosting experience is desirable.
A basic knowledge of leading sports events and competitions is required, in order for the Hosts to run sessions with guests of a mixed
demographic.
A friendly and polite disposition is essential.
Experience of revenue promotion through an entertainment and/or activity product.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
