Viking is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join its growing HR Team in Woodland Hills, CA. Our Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting a positive employee experience. This position supports accurate payroll entry, responsive HR and payroll inquiry management, new hire onboarding, employment record maintenance, I-9 completion, compliance-related file audits, and leave-related administrative reporting.

This is a hybrid position based in our Woodland Hills, CA office. In accordance with Viking’s hybrid work policy, this role is expected to work from the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

Job Responsibilities

    \n
  • Enter biweekly payroll, including wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions and PTO reporting
  • \n
  • Enter new hire information into HRIS, and timekeeping systems and ensure wage, work, and personal information is accurate and updated
  • \n
  • Maintains and audits, payroll records, personal and HR files  in accordance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws
  • \n
  • Coordinates with the Company’s payroll processor to communicate payroll changes, resolve payroll issues, and ensure required tax and benefit enrollment documents are completed
  • \n
  • Manages the HR and payroll inboxes, responds to inquiries directs emails to appropriate team(s) as needed
  • \n
  • Facilitates new hire orientation for individual employees and groups both in person and virtually
  • \n
  • Complete I-9 inspections and verifies identity and employment authorization for new U.S. hires
  • \n
  • Coordinates with Leave of Absence team with leave related payroll processes
  • \n

Required Qualifications:

    \n
  • 3-5 years of HR experience with a focus on payroll processing
  • \n
  • Familiar with general HR policies and procedures
  • \n
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • \n
  • Familiar with federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • \n
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • \n
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all organizational levels virtually and in person 
  • \n
  • Organized, detail-oriented approach to work
  • \n
  • Manages time effectively by prioritizing tasks, and shifting focus as needed 
  • \n
  • Practical problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Maintains a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency with Excel
  • \n
  • Ability to utilize AI tools to support work processes
  • \n
  • The ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS
  • \n
  • Interest in continued learning and professional growth within Human Resources
  • \n

  • Highly competitive compensation plan.

  • Salary range $75,000-$85,000 annually determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, individual qualifications and othe relevant business considerations.
