Are you an experienced lighting professional looking to take your career to the next level while travelling the world? Cunard is seeking a talented Assistant Manager Production - Lighting to support the delivery of world-class entertainment experiences across our iconic fleet.
Working closely with the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful operation, maintenance, programming, and delivery of lighting for production shows, guest entertainers, enrichment events, lectures, deck entertainment, and special events. You will also support the leadership and development of the onboard production team while helping to maintain the exceptional standards synonymous with the Cunard brand.
What you'll be doing
- Support the operational delivery of all lighting elements across the entertainment programme.
- Programme, operate, maintain and troubleshoot lighting systems and moving light fixtures.
- Assist with the setup and delivery of production shows, guest entertainer performances, rehearsals, band calls, and special events.
- Supervise and coach Production Technicians, Deputy Production Technicians, and Stage Crew within your area of responsibility.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, testing, cleaning and repair of lighting equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment issues, repairs, and replacement requirements.
- Support the Production Manager with scheduling, planning and operational delivery of entertainment activities.
- Ensure all work is conducted safely and in accordance with company procedures, risk assessments, and industry best practice.
- Deputise for the Production Manager when required.
- Contribute to stock control, inventory management and equipment receiving processes.
- Deliver exceptional support to performers, entertainment colleagues and guests
About You
We're looking for a confident and technically capable lighting professional who thrives in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.
You will have:
- Professional experience within theatre, touring productions, concert venues, cruise ships, or other live entertainment environments.
- Experience operating and programming lighting control consoles.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing moving light systems.
- Strong understanding of entertainment technology and production workflows.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a production environment.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring team members.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional entertainment experiences
Desirable Experience
- Relevant lighting qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with AMX control systems.
- Previous cruise ship production experience.
- Experience working across diverse entertainment programmes including production shows, concerts, and guest entertainers
