2nd Deck officer is a licensed member of the Deck Department holding a certificate of competency at Chief Mate or Master level and mandatory STCW certification.
Full description:
2nd Deck officer is a vital member of the Deck Department and ship’s management team. While on watch at sea, 2nd Officer navigates the ship by monitoring the vessel's position using the latest navigational equipment such as GPS, NACOS/ECDIS and monitoring the GMDSS station at all times. It is 2nd Officer responsibility the safety conduct of the ship during the watch at sea by following the ship's passage plan in compliance with international navigational rules and Company regs.
While in port, during the watch 2nd Officer is also responsible for the safety of the ship and our passengers, as well as for the routine procedures. As responsible for the entire watch, 2nd Officer leads and coordinates a small team of skilled, professional seafarers, including junior officer and ratings. 2nd Officer directs and supervises the work of the team by maintaining the ship and its equipment at optimum efficiency.
Fluency in written/verbal English, well developed navigational skills, teamwork orientation and well developed management skills are only few qualities and skills 2nd Officer needs to perform his duties as Senior Navigational Officer. As per our requirements 2nd Officer has to be in possession of a Certificate of Competency at Chief Mate or Master level and GMDSS- GOC level to perform duties on board our ships.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
