The Assistant Photo Manager responsibility is to support the Photo Manager in the smooth, safe and efficient running of the Photo operations. To provide a professional and efficient photo service and generate utmost profits through cost control and good salesmanship following company standards.

  • assisting the Photo Manager in achieving company goals by ensuring that all revenue opportunities are maximized
  • co-operating with the Photo Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the Photo Service and to carry out duties as requested.
  • assuring excellence in the photo service and photo production with strong.
  • providing consistently speedy, professional and courteous photo service through close supervision.
  • being fully aware of the current situation regarding the Photo revenue and how it compares with what is   budgeted.
  • emphasis on cost control
  • continuously promoting the highest standards in Guest courtesy through interaction with Guests. - assuring that photoshop is open on time and ready for business no later than 10 minutes before opening (and that they remain open for business as advertised).
  • ensuring that personnel within the areas of responsibility are performing their duties promptly and efficiently.
  • safeguarding assets. Ensuring that the integrity and security of accounting areas are not compromised by either a Guest or staff member. 
  • reporting activities or incidents of a doubtful nature to the Photo Manager. - inspecting photoshop area for cleanliness and orderliness ensuring general cleanliness and orderliness in all photo department areas - reporting feedback from Guests and photo personnel to Photo Manager.
  • following-up on complaints and negative feedback.
  • settling disputes that may arise; and report all unsettled claims to the Photo Manager immediately.- -  providing ongoing training to photo service personnel to assure knowledge of photo offerings and proper service.
  • demonstrating good salesmanship through staff motivation and training.
  • orientation and training of new photo personnel. - communicating  activities to photo personnel trough short meetings.
  • assisting the Photo Manager in monitoring, evaluating, disciplining and/or counselling of all Photo Staff as per current policy and procedure.
  • ensuring that the appearance of both staff and equipment reflect the very highest of standards.
  • ensuring proper handling and storing of photo equipments.
  • being responsible for creating a non-threatening and welcoming atmosphere for all employees.
  • monitoring quality and number of shoots expecially in situations  that could potentially have a major impact on the revenue of the Photo department.
  • assuring that photo stock levels are maintained in the photoshop, photolab and photostore
  • supervising and taking physical inventory in the photoshop, photolab  and photostores    
  • cross-checking of requisitions from Main Store to P.O.S.
  • knowledge of computer use, SA&PI, Cruch Time Systems. Lotus, Office programs.
  • maintaining all Photo Files as well as preparing all documents to be sent to respective offices.
  • assisting in any duties of a  safety nature as requested by Ship’s Command, i.e. safety drills; port manning etc.
  • responding to communication and requests from the Executive Office and/or Ship’s Command in a timely manner. 
  • being able to take charge in the event that the Photo Manager is not present in the Photoshop/Photolab or not onboard the vessel.

Job Requirements

  • English Knowledge B2
  • High school degree 
  • studies in the field of photography are well apprecciated
  • Apprenticeship or work experience in photo
  • Experience in managing a work team 
  • Knowledge of photography and printing. Computer literate and good knowledge of the most common programs (World / Excel)

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
