Within our Crew Scheduling department the Rotations Planning Manager will lead and manage the delivery of the rotations function for all crew across brands P&O Cruises and Cunard Line to ensure that all manpower requirements are met in accordance with required compliment and Fleet Regulations whilst maintaining service and control of costs. Within this role the Rotations Planning Manager will ensure that the team are well supported, guided and developed at all times.

Other typical responsibilities include:

  • Utilise management information (work force plan, training plan) to develop a sustainable strategy for the delivery of all rotation activities to ensure all ships are fully manned, with appropriate staff at all times.
  • Develop contingency plans to support planned and unplanned events which can impact manning requirements.
  • Maintain an up to date and working knowledge of immigration and other maritime rules and regulations and ensure relevant members of the team are fully briefed on the same where appropriate.
  • Develop management information and systems to effectively monitor and identify risks in manning levels and use of manpower resources against targets. Ensure action is taken to address and mitigate risks in a timely fashion, highlighting problem areas and formulating long term strategies with regards to these.
  • Ensure that the execution of rotations activities are done in a cost efficient manner and within agreed budgets. Where exceptions to policy are needed, ensure this is authorised only following a thorough review and mitigation / alternatives have been considered.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of scheduling or manpower planning. You will have good organisation and prioritisation skills. You will be a good problem solver and possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively by telephone, email or face to face with a confident approach.
