Assistant ISM Support Manager

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-reaching, highly capable Assistant ISM Support Manager to work in our head office. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the Management of the CUK SMS database (HESS-MS) and administration support in maintaining and updating the system
• Working with operational management to assess the safe practices recommended by Flag State, Class and other international bodies and organisations to promote a strong safety culture
• Managing the departments databases including; HESS-MS (SMS), Corporate HESS-MS, Audit Tracking and Non Conformances, Certification database and shared drives
• Supporting the Corporate led development of the Global HESS-MS database in conjunction with the Fleet ISM Support Manager & Deputy DPA

You will assist the Fleet ISM Support Manager & Deputy DPA in regards to an effective oversight of the Carnival UK Safety Management System Fleet Certification process and act as a focal point for Flag State, Classification Society and Port State Control Liaison Follow up and closure of Audit Tracking,

Non Conformances, exemption requests and monitoring the effective introduction of new legislation.

You may be required to travel occasionally at short notice.

About You

You’ll need a full understanding of the ISM Code and an understanding of a Safety Management System. You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to communicate with senior management both ashore and at our head office. You will come from a Maritime background and may perhaps have worked or been working previously as an Officer.
