Tax Accountant

Purpose of Position

The Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation and declaration of VAT returns. He/she assists the Senior Manager Tax and is part of a small, but dedicated Tax team.

This role is based in our Head Office in Basel, Switzerland, and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or who are in possession of a valid Swiss work permit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing preparation and declaration of VAT returns, ESL & Intrastat
• Prepare VAT reconciliation and ageing reports
• Ensuring VAT compliant Accounts Payable processes and invoice review
• Communication with tax authorities
• Maintaining VAT set-up in the ERP system
• Support VAT administration and documentation

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in VAT
• VAT compliance background
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent written and spoken English, competency in German is an asset
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities
• Good knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel
• Flexibility and willingness for teamwork
