Purpose of Position

The Recruitment Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining all HR Marketing campaigns including digital, social, print media, and physical brand presence in the relevant target markets. As Viking grows fast responsibilities and scope may change over time. The purpose of this position is to virtually connect Recruiting and HR in Basel, Switzerland, with Marketing in Los Angeles, USA. The Recruitment Marketing Manager transforms the requirements of successful frontline recruiting into an effective Marketing and Employer Branding strategy.

This role is a stand-alone role based in our operational office in Basel, with the main executive stakeholders (peers) being remotely located in our Marketing office in Los Angeles. This position reports into the Director Recruiting (Basel) and the Director Onboard Marketing and Brand Consistency (Los Angeles). Please note that we can only accept candidates who are eligible to work in Switzerland or are in possession of a relevant work permit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Basel HR and LA’s Director Onboard Marketing and Brand Consistency, to continue developing strong Employer Branding in the relevant candidate markets in alignment with Viking’s global marketing
  • Apply HR-Marketing mix to attract potential applicants
  • Work very closely with Los Angeles to maintain Viking Careers social media presence and the crew community with information about Viking career opportunities, our crew, our retention measures, crew welfare and all means of new candidate attraction
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content within guidelines on Social Media channels
  • Organize and support photo/video shoot for recruitment purposes
  • Visit job fairs and relevant conventions
  • Manage printed material together with L.A design department (trade material, giveaways, printed ads etc.)
  • Be responsible for general advertisement in newspapers, online platforms and other relevant places
  • Stay on top and ahead of recruitment marketing trends in the industry and new social media channels
  • Support local regions to develop specific acquisition strategies and marketing campaigns to align with overarching global strategy
  • Work closely with Los Angeles to maintain our global career website and application process
  • Manage content and analytics of recruiting website
  • Explore alternative and original application routes for our target groups, maximizing digital media opportunities
  • Plan and implement targeted recruiting campaigns within brand guidelines through different channels, also with partner recruiting agencies
  • Business travel: 10 per cent

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Communications or Marketing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Marketing or Social Media; hospitality or cruise background is a plus
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal; fluency in German would be preferred
  • Very good communication skills, strong team player and able to work remotely on a constant level
  • Analytical mindset and good organizational skills
  • High level of digital capability; up to date on the latest social media trends
  • Enthusiastic personality; able to be creative while staying within brand parameters
  • Proven expertise in various social media platforms such as, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Facebook, Xing, Instagram
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel), solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
