SENIOR LIGHTING TECHNICIAN
We are recruiting Lighting Technicians to join our team at sea onboard Marella Cruises’ fleet of ships.
about the role
Led by and reporting to the Entertainment Technical Manager, the Snr. Lighting Technician will support the Entertainment Technical team in delivering all lighting related technical aspects of the entertainment programme on board to the highest industry standards.
As the Senior Technician in charge of lighting in the theatre, the ship’s main entertainment venue, you will be operating lighting and AV systems for our West End-style production shows on a nightly basis.
You will work with the latest entertainment technology equipment to support the delivery of the entertainment programme.
You will also be responsible, together with the stage team, for the set-up and strike of the theatre sets, including the stage lighting (moving lights, set electrics, etc).
skills and experience
For this role, you must have strong experience in programming and operating stage lighting equipment for a minimum of three years. Knowledge and previous use of the GrandMA 2 lighting desk is essential as well as confidently calling follow-spot cues for a fast paced show. Previous experience in using QLab, Hippotizer and working with timecode in a live show environment is very much desirable.
You also need to be experienced in enforcing H&S theatre procedures, technical operation of production shows and leading a Stage Crew team.
Previous sea-going experience is desirable.
