As a Learning and Development Manager you will work with Human Resources in ensuring the designated job duties are always completed correctly and promptly according to our company standards, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees onboard learning ensuring all training programs and initiatives are effectively implemented and delivered as per company guidance. Serves as a learning resource and provides learning guidance to all levels of onboard organization. Utilizes L&D expertise and knowledge of adult learning principles to support all who deliver training onboard to develop and enhance their facilitation skills and to ensure their training is effective and meets the learning needs of the audience.
  • Communicating effectively with internal customers to determine learning support needs based on a thorough assessment, including personal interviews, on-the-job performance observation, metrics analysis, and guest and operational feedback.
  • Diligently monitors and ensures compliance of regulatory, corporate and other training programs requirements for all eLearning courses and the Instructor-led sessions supported and delivered by the Human Resources Department. Proctors onboard exams, as directed, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed and confidentiality maintained. Acts as a primary administrator of the onboard Learning Management System, ensuring thorough training record keeping and accurate and prompt reporting.
  • Supporting all leadership development and delivery efforts for ship-based employees from strategy to operational execution.
  • Facilitating leadership development and learning courses, workshops, events, and activities, including team building activities and other critical meetings.
  • Actively participating with the Human Resources Learning & Development Department to implement, test, and pilot new training projects/initiatives.
  • Evaluating current programs and performance using analytics, statistics, metrics, trends, and direct feedback and makes relevant suggestions for ongoing enhancement.
  • Oversees and supports all Experience Ownership, Service Excellence and MedallionClass onboard learning initiatives through learning delivery, Ambassador Program and ongoing coaching efforts.
  • Partners with onboard leadership in the development of teammates and provides support on succession planning efforts including internal transfer opportunities as identified by Company initiatives and onboard leadership.
  • Maintains awareness and focus on teammate’s wellbeing. Provides guidance on available Company resources and voices any concerns to HR Manager/Director and onboard leadership, as appropriate.
  • Delivers basic and essential Human Resources functions in the absence of HR Manager/Director, as outlined in relevant operating procedures.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, HR or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' hospitality experience in a training and development position that includes program delivery and assessment.
  • Prior experience delivery leadership content.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of staff levels in the company.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer fluency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong Command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Previous people management experience preferred.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
