We are recruiting experienced Stage Managers to join our team at sea onboard Marella Cruises’ fleet of ships.
about the role
As the Senior Technician in charge of stage management within the theatre, the ship’s main entertainment venue, you will be supervising the stage team and operating the stage automation controls for our nightly productions in the main theatre.
You will work with the latest technology & equipment and lead the backstage team together with the Entertainment Technical Manager.
skills and experience
For this role you must have a proven stage management background in a professional theatre or touring environment. You should have experience in operating and programming stage automation control systems and aerial performer flying systems.
Together with the stage crew you will be responsible for building all stage sets, scenery and props in the theatre and will help maintain all stage equipment to the highest standards.
You also need to be experienced in enforcing H&S theatre procedures and safe working practices within a theatre environment & must be fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Previous sea-going experience is desirable.
contract information
The contract period for this role is up to 9 months with competitive pay, all meals and single occupancy cabin.
All applicants must be fully vaccinated, hold valid STCW certification (or be willing to obtain these) as well as an ENG1 or equivalent seafarer medical certificate.
