PURPOSE OF POSITION

We introduced the Newcomer Program for New-to-Hospitality applicants in 2021, and successfully trained  750+ colleagues on the Newcomer Campus in 2022. We are currently looking for an experienced, dedicated Food and Beverage professional, who is remarkably familiar with life on board, is an expert in the Maître d'hôtel job and is willing to join in the role of functional trainer for waiters. You will become part of a small, cross-departmental trainer team at the beginning of March 2023, and we are looking for long-term cooperation with you. You will be responsible for the training content development in your functional area, and you will be delivering the functional training during the planned campuses in the future. You will be integrated into the reporting structure of the Functional Trainers. This role involves your presence on the Campus, traveling to all our harbors and / or vessels in Central Europe if required, and may include training activities in remote areas. 

We are looking for a functional trainer in the following functional area:

Food & Beverage: Waiters

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver state-of-the-art training for training participants in your functional area. The topics for this training will include basic & advanced functional skills
  • Suggest and co-design training programs based on your experience, together with the Newcomer Training Program Team
  • Follow the training structure and deliver the trainings according to the training plan
  • Ensure use and delivery of approved training materials only
  •  Ensure effective preparation of Newcomers before they even join so they arrive with enthusiasm on board
  •  Ensure efficient and smooth delivery of the training and the administration of participants
  •  Liaise with other colleagues and stakeholders to ensure good reporting of training and development measures and their impact

YOUR PROFILE

  • At least 2 full operating years’ experience in a leading role (Maître d'hôtel) and at least a total of 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in the cruise industry
  •  Skilled and experienced, in the delivery of learning & development programs and onboard trainings, preferably previous experience with Newcomer or Season Start trainings
  • Fluent written and spoken English. A competency in other languages is an asset
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Public speaking skills and experience with large face to face training groups
  • Strong business acumen, exceptional work ethic and customer orientation
  • Exemplary work record, preferably in different roles and different operations and regions
  •  Excellent planning and organizational abilities
  • Flexibility and willingness for co-operation and teamwork
  • Reliable and stress-resistant
  • Ability to work out of business hours and on weekends
  •  Excellent Digital skills (MS Office).

  • Implement SOP policies, procedures, standards, as laid out by the management
  • Ensure appropriate appearance and clothing according to the updated grooming standards
