POSITION SUMMARY:

Receives, stores, and distributes hotel consumable and disposable items, material, tools, equipment, and products throughout the vessel by performing the following duties. The assigned storeroom supports the following shipboard functions: Casino, Entertainment & Guest Activities, Housekeeping, Financial Operations, Guest Services, Beauty Salon and Shops On Board.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Each shipboard employee reports to their workstation assignment on time and properly groomed and dressed according to Royal Caribbean International’s brand standards. This includes a clean uniform, nametag, and any other uniform related item.
  2. Reads loading schedule, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  3. Operates forklift to transports materials and items from loading areas to storage or to other designated areas. Transports stored items from storeroom or to pick up items from several locations throughout the vessel.
  4. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  5. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  6. Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  7. Compiles worksheets or tickets from department specifications. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to departments. Places orders on pallets, carts or shelves, or transports orders to department.
  8. Marks materials with identifying information.
  9. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner and according to USPH standards.
  10. Maintains inventory records. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Uses computer to enter records.
  11. May prepare parcels for mailing.
  12. Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
  13. Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.


Hiring Requirements:

  • One to two years storeroom, inventory, or materials management experience stocking and delivering supplies and equipment for large 4 or 5 star hotels, resorts, hospitals or related facilities.
  • Ability to properly operate forklift and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of public health standards (USPH) related to storeroom management hotel consumable and replaceable products.
  • Knowledge of chemical storage guidelines.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions with regard to storeroom procedures.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency preferred.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
