The Senior Manager, Operational Risk is accountable for the design, implementation and delivery of Carnival UK’s
(CUK) Maritime operational risk management strategy and ensuring there is an effective risk management system,
process, and culture in place to effectively identify and communicate risk to the appropriate senior levels.
Responsible for ensuring operational risks and issues are effectively identified and communicated. To develop the
processes required to mitigate their impact to the operation. To ensure stakeholders are fully engaged, trained, and
supported to deliver a consistent approach for the management of risks and issues.
With Asset Management a key tool to manage our technical operational risks, the role will take the lead in the
management of the CUK Planned Maintenance System (PMS) team, providing leadership and direction to ensure
this critical enabling function delivers in support of the business objectives in compliance and risk management.
Inform future investment decisions for the Fleet and support CUK asset management planning.
Work with senior leadership to develop and embed the Maritime operational risk management strategy and
continuously improve through lessons learned and management reviews with both ship and shore leaders. The role
will require close collaboration with Senior leaders ashore and on board. The role will provide leadership to develop
an effective and consistent culture of risk management throughout the organisation but with a focus within the onboard teams.
The role holder is to lead the use of the operational risk and issues system and manage the implemented operational
risk management strategy with key stakeholders’ ship and shore to ensure the system is working efficiently,
effectively reporting, and highlighting the occurrences that could impact operations.
Set expectations, share best practice, and manage and develop leaders and others to ensure that they maximise their
performance in relation to the management and control of documented risks and issues.
Accountable for the development of a road map of change for the delivery of the program, covering training, budget
management, growing the vision, delivery, effective roll out and a positive culture change. Write policy and
procedures for use and continuously review and enhance.

Language Requirements
