Deck Fitter

Your Purpose

As a Deck Fitter, you play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the ship’s equipment, with a focus on welding. You’ll assist the Deck Department with maintenance tasks and spare parts inventory, ensuring the vessel operates efficiently. This hands-on role offers a great opportunity to develop technical skills while working as part of a dynamic team at sea.

We are looking for candidates who bring relevant technical experience, ideally in the maritime industry or in mechanical fields with a background in welding. Your experience and skills will directly contribute to your success in this role. Here are the key aspects we are looking for: 

Relevant Experience: Previous experience as a deck fitter, in welding, or in similar hands-on maintenance roles, ideally within the maritime or mechanical industries. 

Technical Skills: A strong understanding of deck operations, equipment repair, and welding techniques is essential for performing maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively. 

Inventory Management: Experience in managing spare parts and materials inventory, ensuring that necessary supplies are readily available and properly maintained. 

Safety and Quality Mindset: A proactive approach to maintaining safety standards and adhering to quality regulations, ensuring a safe environment for crew and passengers. 

Team Collaboration: Experience working in teams, communicating effectively with colleagues in different departments, and contributing positively to the overall work environment.

Proven experience in welding and mechanical repairs, preferably in maritime settings.
