ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Company places the highest value on the environment, and all employees shall do the same. Those assigned to this position shall work with superiors and subordinates to understand and comply with the company's environmental policies and be committed to safeguard the environment. He shall directly and immediately inform his immediate superior if any environmental system does not function properly.
Assist with overhauling and maintaining all site equipment.
Welding, including TIG and MIG.
Operate and maintain Site water production and STP plant, keep all relevant logs up to date.
Operate lathe machine.
Operate Heavy Equipment and site vehicles
Carry out most steelwork, including stainless steel.
General pipe and plumbing work.
May be assigned to participate with any projects and equipment upgrade that is not part of regular maintenance, as per Site Engineer's instruction.
Operate potable water system and assure chemical treatment is performed accordingly.
Carry out water tests for potable water and STP, maintain logs.
May be assigned to participate with any projects and equipment upgrade that is not part of regular maintenance, as per Site Engineer's instruction.
Additional routines and work as assigned by Site Engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hiring Requirements:
Must hold valid license /certificate(s) in area of technical specialty.
Three or more years progressive technical experience and training in a resort environment with at least two years operational experience with Power Generation, Sewage Treatment Plants, Incinerators, Potable Water Production and heavy operating equipment.
Previous exposure to international environments strongly preferred.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work with an international staff in a positive and productive manner.
Language Requirements:
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and employees.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, management and co-workers.
Ability to speak additional languages, such as Spanish, French or German, is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
All technical staff must be physically able to participate in emergency medical situations on site, which include medical evacuations of guests, shipboard crew members and other employees. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the evacuation of the Private Destination. Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
