1st Refrigeration Engineer

Position Overview

• Reports to the Chief Refrigeration Engineer for operation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, cooling, ice rink, and air conditioning systems.
• Acts as a technical consultant and supports the development of junior engineers.
• In emergencies, may assume the Chief Refrigeration Engineer responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Environmental Stewardship
• Comply with and promote the company's environmental policies.
• Work with team members to ensure systems are environmentally responsible.
• Immediately report any malfunctioning environmental systems to your supervisor.

System Maintenance & Operation

• Maintain ventilation, cooling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems at peak efficiency.
• Ensure all equipment operates at maximum efficiency to reduce energy and fuel costs.
• Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of:
• Ventilation and HVAC systems
• Ice rink cooling (if applicable)
• Refrigerators, coolers, and ice machines
• Fire dampers, shut-off dampers, filters, and ventilation cleaning systems

Team Development & Budget Support

• Support the training of team members in safety and operational duties.
• Assist with budget control, spare parts management, and work order coordination.
• Additional Duties
• Perform routine tasks and any other work assigned by your supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
