Position Overview

  • Assists the Officer in Charge of the Navigational Watch (OICNW) with safe navigation and vessel operations.
  • Supports the Safety Officer, Chief Officer Navigation, and Chief Officer Deck.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, always aligning with the Company’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Licenses: Third Officer License with OICNW endorsement.
  • Certifications: STCW training certification.

  • Ensure safe navigation and vessel operation.
  • Assist with mooring and anchoring procedures.

Support Chief Officers in:

  • Checking, testing, and maintaining safety and lifesaving equipment.
  • Correcting charts and publications.
  • Assisting with passage planning.
  • Overseeing deck maintenance.

  • Maintain a positive, proactive attitude—take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Resolve conflicts through fact-based communication.

Physical & Language Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, handle equipment, reach, talk, hear, and see clearly.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Fully capable of participating in emergency drills and lifesaving procedures.
  • Strong English communication skills—understand/write instructions, respond effectively, and interact with guests and crew.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
